Louis was born in New Jersey on April 6, 1999, to Louis King Sr. and Ativea King. His name at birth was Louis D’ajon King.

He is the second youngest of his seven brothers and grew up with them.

His father, Louis King, Sr., worked as the Jersey City Fire Department captain before he retired. His mother, Ativea King, went to Henry Snyder High School.

High School & Collegiate Basketball

Louis King went to Roselle Catholic High School for his first year.

He went to Pope John XXIII Regional High School as a junior but then switched to Hudson Catholic Regional High School in the middle of the year.

During his sophomore year, King led Hudson Catholic to a 26-4 record, averaging 13.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

In January of his senior year, he hurt his knee when he fell funny after a dunk.

Even though King was hurt, he attended the 2018 Nike Hoop Summit.

He joined the Oregon Ducks for his college journey and played for only one year (as a freshman), averaging 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

The Pac-12 All-Freshman Team then announced the 2019 NBA Draught.

King joined Troy Brown and Bol Bol as the third one-and-done basketball player between 2018 and 2019.

NBA Career

He signed with the Detroit Pistons for the NBA Summer League after not being picked in the 2019 NBA Draught.

Later, the Pistons signed him to a short-term, two-way deal twice, putting him in 10 NBA games.

Even though the New York Knicks gave him a two-way deal in the middle of December 2020, he was let go the next day.

He was then sent back to the Knicks’ G-league team, the Westchester Knicks, where he will spend the rest of the 2020 season and most of the 2021 season.

On April 30, 2021, Louis and the Sacramento Kings agreed to a two-year two-way deal.

On May 14, 2021, when the Kings lost by a score of 106-107, the NBA player scored 27 points, which was his career-high.

After getting a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, he played for the RGV Vipers and the Delaware Blue Coats in the 2022–2023 season.

In November 2020, the foundation gave food and clothes to people in Jersey City affected by COVID-19. The goal was to help the neighborhood, which had been hit hard.

Assemblywoman Angela V. McKnight and Jersey City Council President Joyce E. Watterman gave the star a proclamation thanking him for his work in the community and recognizing him for it.
