Early Life, Family & High School

Danuel House Sr. and Lisa House had Danuel Kennedy House Jr. on June 7, 1993.

House was born in Texas, and when he was a kid, he went to Hightower High School in Missouri City. He started playing basketball with his classmates and quickly got better. He was also brilliant and did well in school.

Even as a young trainee, his playing skills impressed the teachers at his school, so they gave him more playing time. In exchange, he was a great player for the team. In his sophomore year, he scored 13.9 points, blocked 1.1 shots, and grabbed 5.4 rebounds per game.

House stepped up his game in his final year and became a much better player. His stats also went up. As a senior, he averaged 26.0 points, 2.1 assists, and 6.2 boards per game.

House helped Hightower finish the season with a 29–9 record, and sports review sites like ESPNU 100 and Scout.com put him on their lists of top players.

House had a happy childhood in Fourth Ward with his parents and four other brothers. Jerrel, Terrel, and Daniel III are his brothers.

He also has a younger sister whose name is Dannisha. His brothers gave him a lot of help and inspiration to grow up and become Danuel House.

In March 2021, four of the 76ers forward’s family members died in a car crash. This was a massive blow to him. His sister-in-law and her three kids were the ones who died in that accident.

Career

College Career

Danuel House chose to play college basketball at the University of Houston. The team had a lot of faith in him, so they let him start 27 of 33 games in his first year.

In his first year, he scored 12.4 points per game, which showed that his team’s management was right. He averaged 19.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in his second year.

House scored the most points for the Cougars but had to leave the team after the second year for personal reasons.

But he soon started going to Texas A&M University to play basketball in college. He played every first game for the Aggies except for three in his junior year.

Even though he changed quickly, it didn’t hurt his performance. During that season, House scored 16.2 points per game and was named to the first team of All-SEC. But he hurt his foot and had to miss the last four games.

House’s last season as a senior, he averaged 15.6 points, 4.8 boards, and 2.1 assists per game. He surprised everyone by scoring as many as 50 points in the first three games of that season.

That year, he had a great season, which helped his team get to the Battle 4 Atlantis playoffs. But when they played Syracuse, they lost.

During that season, the Aggies and Kentucky tied for the SEC title. House also averaged 17.0 points per game during the tournament, which earned him a spot on the second team of All-SEC.

Professional Career

Washington Wizards

Danuel House entered the 2016 NBA draught after being called one of the best young stars in the country during his time in college. He was not chosen, which was a shame.

After this bad thing happened, on September 23, 2016, he signed a deal with the Washington Wizards for the NBA Summer League.

On November 11, 2016, Danuel played his first game for the Wizards. It was against the Cleveland Cavaliers. But soon after that, he hurt his wrist and had to stay off the game. It took him a lot of time to get better.

He only played one game for the Wizards. On March 1, 2017, the team let him go. In the meantime, he played some games in the NBA-Development League for the Delaware 87ers.

Phoenix Suns

After the Wizards let him go, House briefly joined the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in October. He played for the Vipers for the whole month of November, where he averaged 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

On December 8, 2017, the Phoenix Suns got House to sign a two-way deal. He first played in the NBA G League for the Phoenix Suns and the Northern Arizona Suns.

He played his first game for the Suns on December 9 against the San Antonio Spurs. He scored 2 points and grabbed a rebound. House kept playing until June 2018 for both Suns.

After his two-year deal ended on February 23, he signed a new one for another two years. During the 2017-18 season, he averaged 6.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.

Houston Rockets

House signed a two-way deal with the Houston Rockets on December 6, 2018. Before that, he played in the NBA G League for their partner team, the Vipers. But the club had just let him go two days before.

When he joined the Rockets, they sent him back to the Vipers. House was in the NBA G League that season and had great stats.

After seeing how well he played, the Rockets signed him to a standard NBA deal the same year. After Chris Paul got hurt on March 15, the forwards played against his old team, the Suns. In just 35 minutes of play, he got 18 points, which was his season high.

On June 30, the club gave him a new three-year deal, and he stayed there until December 18, 2021. In the meantime, House was banned for two games for breaking Covid-19 rules.

He was also charged for letting a woman he didn’t know into his hotel room, which worsened things.

After what happened, he didn’t go to any more games during the 2019-20 season.

Utah Jazz

House signed a 10-day deal with the Utah Jazz on January 6, 2022. On January 18, he signed a second contract, a 10-day agreement with the Jazz. On January 28, House signed a third 10-day deal with the Jazz. The team signed him for the rest of the season on February 11.

Philadelphia 76ers

House signed a two-year, $8.5 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers on July 6, 2022.
