Barbarita Springer and Gary Springer Sr. welcomed Jaden Springer into the world on September 25, 2002.

He grew up with three brothers, Gary Jr., Jamie, and Jordan, and a sister, Taniqua.

The NBA player is of black ethnicity and began playing sports when he was six. He started by playing soccer but quit the next day.

Springer was an eighth-grade basketball player at Lighthouse Christian School in Antioch, Tennessee. He scored 19 points and grabbed 3.5 rebounds per game.

He chose to attend Rocky River High School in Mint Hill, North Carolina, for his first two years of high school. Despite several academic and disciplinary issues, the school’s head basketball coach, Jermaine Walker, accepted him.

And it was well worth the call! As a freshman, Jaden averaged 21.8 points, 9.4 rebs, and five assists per game, leading his high school team to its first state tournament appearance.

As a sophomore, he scored 24.7 pts, 10.2 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, and 2.4 steals per game, helping his team to the Class 4A state playoffs.

In addition, Jaden was named Southwestern 4A Player of the Year. For the remainder of the high school season, he transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

He became a member of the best teams in the country, sharing the field with top recruits Josh Green, Armando Bacot, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.

Jaden concluded his junior year with 15.6 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game, guiding his team to the GEICO High School Nationals title.

Springer scored 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game for IMG during his final year. He played the entire season despite an ankle injury because he’s out of some games.

Jaden had been invited to play in the 2020 McDonald’s All-American Game, but the game was canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
