Chad Buchanan, born on March 15, 1976, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is the current General Manager of the Indiana Pacers. A graduate of the University of Virginia with a BA in Economics, Buchanan began his NBA journey as a scout for the Pistons from 2004 to 2007. He then served as Assistant General Manager for the Hawks (2007-2011), Knicks (2011-2016), and Hornets (2016-2023). In 2023, he was appointed as the Pacers’ General Manager. Notable achievements include helping the Hornets reach the playoffs in 2019 and 2020, drafting LaMelo Ball in 2020, and being named NBA Executive of the Year in the same year. Buchanan is highly regarded for his scouting prowess, talent evaluation, and negotiation skills, positioning him as a rising star in the NBA front office.
