Mitch Kupchak, born on May 24, 1954, is the current GM of the Charlotte Hornets. He played college basketball at the University of San Diego and Pepperdine University before being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1976. After retiring in 1986, he joined the Lakers’ front office as an assistant GM and was later promoted to general manager in 2000.
