Chelsea agree to sign Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Chelsea has agreed to sign striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, according to reports.
London clubs have reportedly agreed to an £18m fee for the Gabon international as a move to Stamford Bridge is getting closer.
Aubameyang only joined Barcelona in January after his days at Arsenal came to an end after being stripped of the captaincy by manager Mikel Arteta.
Aubameyang has made 24 appearances since his move to Camp Nou, scoring 13 goals for the Catalan club.
However, his time at the La Liga giants appears to be over, in part due to the club’s signing of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. As a result, Aubameyang will see his chances severely limited, something he is reluctant to accept.
After returning to the Premier League with Chelsea, Aubameyang will be reunited with Thomas Tuchel, who previously spent time together, and who was previously manager of Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
The Stamford Bridge club has been looking for a striker all summer after Romelu Lukaku left Inter and Timo Werner left RB Leipzig.
