Imobile has scored 164 professional goals in Serie A, and now his goal is to achieve another ambitious milestone: on the podium of the top scorer in Serie A history.
The 31-year-old player made history after scoring a goal in the Europa League match against Marseille.
As the three-time Serie A top scorer, Immobile surpassed the previous record holder Silvio Piola (Silvio Piola), who scored 159 goals for the Roma club.
He joined Lazio from Sevilla in 2016 and has 44 assists in 233 games.
The Italian striker also played for Dortmund, Juventus, Turin and Genoa.
In July of this year, he won the UEFA Champions League with Italy, beating England on a penalty kick in a 1-1 match.
Immobile’s leading role in Lazio has been his home since 2016, which is evident in the salary he collects. According to Gazzetta dello Sport’s salary estimates, the Italian international is the highest paid player on Lazio’s list, with an annual net income of US$4.6 million.
Immobile will try to continue to increase the number of goals for his personal goal, as Lazio will host Salernitana in the 12th round of Serie A in 2021/22.
