Despite being plagued by injuries all season, the Milwaukee Bucks are still in the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, Grayson Allen, and Wes Matthews have all missed the season with injuries. Additionally, Khris Middleton, Pat Connaughton, and Joe Ingles have yet to fit in this season.
The Bucks started with a 9-0 record as Antetokounmpo looked MVP as he beat the competition. Due to recent injuries, including Antetokounmpo and Holiday, the Bucks have lost three of their last five games. Veteran center Brook Lopez took advantage of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ attention on Antetokounmpo to score 29 points on 7-for-9 shooting from beyond the arc in a 113-98 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers will be without All-Star James Harden for at least another month, but in the meantime, the team can count on their superstar big man Joel Embiid. The team has won both of its last two games, with Embiid scoring 42 points and a career-high 59 in Sunday night’s win over the Jazz. He dominated two games, especially Sunday against the Jazz.
In the victory over the Jazz, Embiid scored 26 of his team’s 27 points in the fourth quarter to help the couple tie the game. He finished with 59 pts, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and seven blocks. In doing so, he became the first NBA player to record at least 50 points, ten rebounds, five assists, & five blocks in a single game since the NBA officially released all those numbers in 1973-74.
The Sixers have been rested since Sunday, so hopefully, they will start this one rusty. With Antetokounmpo back to full strength, he provided additional support for Embiid in the paint. Also, only a few teams do that, but the Sixers need someone who can effectively match the Greek Freak.
