The Philadelphia Phillies take on their in-state rivals, the Pittsburgh Pirates, on Friday night from PNC Park.The Pirates have been far from dangerous of late and the Phillies know how big of an opportunity they have this weekend to grab some crucial wins.

The Phillies have lost three of his last four starts where in each of the losses he gave up at least five runs. This is Velasquez’s first start of the season facing the Pirates. He has had issues giving up the long ball as of late, as he has given up seven HR in the three losses in his last four starts.
The Phillies are in the midst of a postseason race too, which means that they’ll have some added focus when grabbing the win in the series opener.
