The best big threes in NBA history

  • Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman (Bulls, 1995-1998)

Jordan, Pippen and Rodman only played together for three seasons.

Jordan is undoubtedly the best of the bunch, but it would be foolish to think he did it all alone. Pippen is the Bulls’ point forward and best perimeter defender, while Rodman is the dirty-work expert who moves and works harder than anyone else on the floor.

They won titles in all three seasons, with Jordan and Pippen taking their second three-peat. Jordan and Pippen were excellent offensive and defensive perimeter players, and Rodman was an excellent interior defense and rebounding machine.

  • Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili (Spurs, 2002-2015)

Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Parker are the best trio of the past decade. Together they won three championships. Duncan has always been an inside player, Ginobili is a great all-around perimeter player, and Parker is a great shooting guard.

Their different skills complemented each other and became the most successful player in franchise history. Duncan has received a lot of praise, he’s one of the best power forwards in the league, and arguably he wouldn’t have done it without Parker and Manu Ginobili by his side.

All three are incredible individual talents, they’re even better together, and will undoubtedly go down in history as the best, most balanced trio in NBA history.

  • Magic Johnson, Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy (Lakers, 1982-1989)

Magic Johnson gets most of the credit for leading L.A.’s Showtime offense, but he’s got plenty of help from James Worthy, who’s a terrorist at the break, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who he The skyhook made him one of the greatest players in the league.

Magic, Kareem and Worthy make up the funniest and most exciting team of all time, the Showtime Lakers of the ’80s. In the late ’80s, they won three titles together. Magic is a great guard, Worthy is a great fast forward and a great finisher, and Kareem is a half-court presence.

  • LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (Miami Heat 2010-2014)

James, Bosh and Wade were selected first, fourth and fifth overall in the 2003 NBA draft and led the team in scoring the first seven seasons. The Heat signed Bosh and James in free agency, which was finally announced on the TV special “The Decision.” The trio led the Heat to the NBA Finals in each of their four seasons and won back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013.After a Finals loss to the San Antonio Spurs the following season, James opted to renew his contract and returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

  • Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant (Golden State Warriors 2017-2019)

Durant has only been with Golden State for a year and a half, but they have accomplished so much and dominated the game. They won the title in 2017, and the things that ruled out miracles in the playoffs this year are expected to repeat themselves.

Even before KD came along, the Warriors were the top team in the West, reaching the Finals the first two years and winning the championship in 2015. Also, importantly, when you add this team, this team is really “Big Four” Draymond Green, the best guard.
