2021 NBA Highest-paid Players

For the fifth straight season, Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry is at the top of the highest-paid players list.

The seven-time All-Star signed a five-year, $201.2 million contract with the Warriors in the 2017 offseason. It was a huge raise from his previous contract that was a four-years, $44 million deal. However, if you consider all that he achieved in the last couple of years of the deal, even that raise would fall short.

In 2015 and 2016, Curry was named league MVP, the second being the only unanimous MVP season in NBA history. Both years, he led the Warriors to the NBA Finals with the first trip ending with a championship, the franchise’s first since 1975. Led by his superhuman play, the Warriors set an NBA record with 73 wins in the 2015-16 season.

Curry is slated to earn over $45 million in the 2021-22 NBA season. Behind him, in a close second on the NBA’s highest-paid list, is John Wall of Houston Rockets, who is in the penultimate year of his four-year, $171 million deal that started in 2019.

2021 NBA Lowest-paid Salary

Shortly after free agency began, the NBA revealed the salary cap ($112.4 million) and tax level ($136.6 million) for the 2021-2022 season.

This list will be updated once contracts are finalised in 2021 free agency.

The lowest paid players in the 2020-21 NBA Season are Henry Ellenson of the Toronto Raptors and Chimezie Metu of the Sacramento Kings.

The two lowest paid players in the NBA are guaranteed to earn the same as the average persons take home in the USA this year. It is highly likely that the players could make more depending on how their season goes.
