Early Life
On June 9, 2003, Nikola was born in Leicester, England. Ilija Jovic is his father, while his mother’s identity is unknown. He and his parents are very close and have helped him through every stage of his life. They mostly come to the stadium to attend and support him and watch his games.

Early Career

He grew up playing basketball and water polo for VK Partizan. Before switching to the Mega Basket youth system in 2018, Jovi was a basketball player for the KK Sava youth system.
He was the MVP of the 2020-21 Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, where he scored 29.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.8 blocks while shooting 66% from the field and 17% from three.
Professional Career
Mega Basket (2021–2022)
At the Radivoj Kora Cup competition in Novi Sad in February 2021, Jovi made his senior debut for Mega Basket. Jovi made his ABA League debut on March 19 against Split in a 74-65 loss, earning 10 points and nine rebounds in 21 minutes of action. One day after turning 18 years old, on June 10, 2021, he signed his first professional contract with Mega.
Jovi won votes for the top international player not competing in the NBA in the NBA GM Survey for the 2021–22 NBA season. He was named the ABA League’s Top Prospect for the 2021–2022 season in April 2022. Jovi averaged 11.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.7 turnovers, and 0.4 blks per game in 25 games during the 2021–22 season while shooting 42.8 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from three-point range and 75.4 percent from the free throw line.
Miami Heat (2022–present)
Jovi announced his intent to enter the 2022 NBA draught in April. Jovi went to the 2022 NBA Draught held at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, on June 23, 2022. The Miami Heat took him with the 27th overall pick in the Draught. On July 2, 2022, Jovi formally agreed to a multi-year rookie scale contract with the Heat. He joined the Heat for the NBA Summer League in July 2022.
Jovi was given a one-game suspension on October 23, 2022, without compensation for leaving the bench during a brawl between the Heat and the Toronto Raptors the previous evening. On December 30, 2022, he was assigned to the NBA G League.
National Team Career
Due to a right arm injury, Jovi could not compete in the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championship in Udine, Italy.
Jovi competed for Serbia’s U19 national team at the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in July 2021. Throughout seven tournament games, he scored 18.1 points, grabbed 8.3 rebounds, and provided 2.9 assists. He was picked for the tournament all-star team.
