Adebayo Bam was born on July 18, 1997, in Newark, New Jersey, USA. John Adebayo, his father, is a Nigerian immigrant, and Marilyn Blount, his mother, is an American.
Even though his parents named him Edrice at birth, his mother eventually nicknamed him “Bam Bam,” after the character from the American sitcom The Flintstones.

College Career
Adebayo attended the University of Kentucky after graduating from high school. Despite mainly being a center, he occasionally played as a power forward.
He was a standout freshman for the Kentucky Wildcats, helping them win the SEC Tournament in 2017.
Bam contributed significantly to their advancement to the championship game and scored nine points to help them win.
He averaged 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in his first college season.
