Walker joined the Miami Hurricanes during the current campaign, turning down offers from Villanova, Kentucky, Syracuse, and Arizona.

 

On November 10, 2017, Walker made his collegiate debut against Gardner-Webb University, scoring 10 points and dishing out a season-high five assists off the bench.

 

He set new records of 12 points and five rebounds in an 80-52 rout of Princeton University on December 2 before setting season highs of 26 points and seven rebounds in his first collegiate start against Boston University three days later. He had a game-high 25 points against Louisville, including an impressive layup in the middle of the court to force OT. 

 

He made a 3-pointer against Boston College with two seconds left to secure a 79-78 victory. Walker led the Hurricanes in scoring with an average of 11.5 points per game.

Walker was chosen by the San Antonio Spurs as the 18th overall choice in the 2018 NBA draft on June 21, 2018. Walker was later added to the Spurs’ 2018 NBA Summer League roster. Walker’s signing by the Spurs was announced on July 11, 2018.

 

Walker signed a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on the 6th day of July 2022.
