During his senior season, Harris led his team to fifth place in the Class 1A state tournament after finishing with a 26-2 record. Considered a three-star recruit out of high school, Harris was recruited by Tony Bennett when he was the coach at Washington State. When Bennett went to Virginia, Harris switched commitment to join Bennet in Virginia. 

 

Harris didn’t play much during his freshman season but became a big part of the Cavaliers’ plans as his college career progressed. Entering his senior season, Harris was on the preseason Wooden Award watch list. He led the Cavaliers to their first outright ACC regular-season title since 1981, their first tournament title since 1976, and their first Sweet Sixteen appearance since 1995.

The Cleveland Cavaliers used the 33rd selection in the 2014 NBA Draft to select Harris. During his 1st season in the league, he helped lead the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals. Harris had surgery to remove an additional bone in his right foot on January 5, 2016, effectively terminating his season. He was dealt to the Orlando Magic a week later. The Magic promptly released him from his contract.

 

Harris joined the Brooklyn Nets on July 19, 2016. In April 2017, he suffered a shoulder injury that ended his season. The Nets re-signed him in July 2018. In February 2019, he took first place in the NBA 3-Point Contest.
