Duke and Jahvon Quinerly split the Big East Freshman of the Year award heading into their first season at Providence. He started the season as the team’s point guard but switched to an off-ball role towards the end of the year. In a 76-67 victory over South Carolina on November 17, 2018, Duke had a season-high 20 points from a rookie.

 

He had a 7.1-point, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game average as a rookie. In a 78-74 loss to Creighton on January 18, 2020, Duke scored a second-season best 36 points while shooting 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. He averaged 12 points, 4.2 rebs, 3.1 assists, and 1.5 steals a game as a sophomore while shooting 42% from outside the arc. As a junior, Duke averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 rebs, and 4.8 assists per game. He was selected for the All-Big East Second Team. Duke gave notice to enter the NBA draft on April 2, 2021, forfeiting his remaining college eligibility. 

 

Professional career

 

Brooklyn Nets (2021–present)

 

Duke signed an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets on August 8, 2021, after going undrafted in the NBA draft 2021. 

 

His agreement was changed to a two-way contract on October 16. He was required to split his time between the Nets and its NBA G League team, the Long Island Nets, under the rules of the contract. 

 

Duke accepted the Nets’ offer for a new two-way contract but declined it. Thus, he joined the team for the 2022 NBA Summer League. On September 16, he did re-sign with the Nets on a two-way contract. For the 2022–23 G League season, Duke was selected for the inaugural Next Up Game.
