Sure, they could somehow find a way to climb back up, but it’s a long-shot hope, especially if the team enters the postseason on a five-game losing streak. They dropped their fourth straight loss in a 133-117 beating at the hands of the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.

A loss on Sunday would be an ugly way to finish the regular season for a team that was once ranked No. 1 in the Eastern Conference. But it’s tough seeing Sunday’s game go any other way when looking at the injury report. DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic are all listed as out for this game. Even Alex Caruso will be watching from the sidelines.

Minnesota has been a middle-of-the-road defensive team with their best work clearly coming in their home building this season. That hostile hospitality could be a big problem for a shorthanded Bulls team averaging only 106.9 points in their last four games. The buckets haven’t been falling, and the defense has looked especially pitiful.

The Bulls are all in on packing things in and preparing for the postseason. This doesn’t feel like a game they’re locked in to win. With the way they’ve struggled in recent outings, they’d probably still be in trouble, even if they had their starters on the court.
